How To Light The Pilot On A Deluxe Janitrol

RTCV: between lies, lies and false pluralism

The English and Italian media - the ones I read closely - are vying with one another, these days, who more distorted at will, the reality of the facts.
I am referring to the question Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV), off opposition television by Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.

As read a little here and a little there, I am not that prohibits or closes a television, RCTV will still exist and spread their signals, but cable or satellite, just as do hundreds of other television stations in Venezuela and around the world.
A bit like
had to happen some years ago in Italy, do you remember? There was a law which stated that the grant signal to broadcast Rete4 would have expired, and this should have been transferred to the satellite. But Italy went differently, because the then Prime Minister (remember him well, no?) Issued a APPO law is to allow Rete 4 to continue broadcasting over the air.

In Venezuela, however, the space of radioelecttrico Canal 2, which has been exploited for more than 50 years of RCTV, now will be for public television, as provided for in Article 108 of the Venezuelan constitution, which calls for ensuring the population "[...] public services of radio, television [...] , with the aim of allowing universal access to information .

In Venezuela, as in Spain, as in Italy, the government distributes a number of concessions to operate and transmit signals.
In Venezuela, the Settlement of Licences for television, broadcasting of May 27, 1987, shall, in the 1st article, " concessions to establish the rights of exploitation of stations, television stations and broadcasts are granted for 20 years ".
So what has taken place across the world, was simply legal termination of a license.

In all democratic countries is the government that has the expertise to regulate a radio limited space considered as a public good, through the policy of concessions for a period previously set.
In Spain, for esemipo, was the government that granted Antena 3, Tele 5 (Silvietta that of ours) and Canal Plus to issue the grant over the air, and denied to other groups of Communication. In
Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre (regional president, say, the appartentente PP) approved unilateral concessions to groups such as Libertad Digital (close, very close to the PP), denying many others, without all this does cause some kind of scandal.

A study in the journal Diagonal counted between 236 closures, revocable, non-renewals of radio and TV in 21 countries worldwide, including the United States and the European Union (you can find it here in PDF ): someone said something about it?

Since 2002, under the government of Hugo Chávez, have enabled 195 / 2 Community, 167 radio and 28 television stations. Journals are edited 164 y 117 / 2 are active digital. We all receive equally with infrastructure support from the government, without there being any kind of political control.

In Venezuela private companies concentrate in their hands, almost 80% of TV stations , and of course we deny all to recognize the democratic legitimacy of the government led by Hugo Chávez (some of them also supported the failed coup 2002), as well as support the economic oligarchy actions to prevent the action of the Venezuelan government elected by the people.

The Western media have done their utmost to report the protests arose in opposition to the decision of the Venezuelan government, but we were told, for example, displays of celebration for the democratization of the country spectrum. We have reported the chorus of approval TVes uttered in favor of the newborn, such as " Tves is a daughter of the Bolivarian revolution is about to be born .

Rodolfo Segura, Antimo, said: "We a few hours from Venezuela that give birth to one of his daughters more valuable. A daughter who beeper the beginning of a new history of Venezuelan television .

For the sake of completeness, since we are talking about freedom and pluralism of information, the public here is an excerpt of an article written by Ernesto Carmona of Argenpress , Los amos de la prensa (Own the press).
